The envelope please...

February 2, 2015

This was an exciting and memorable day. One Matt had been waiting for for many years.  The day he gets to open his mission call.  Today, this large, white envelope arrived at the house.  Inside this envelope, was a letter signed by the prophet, President Monson, calling Matt to serve a mission for the Church, and stating where he would be serving for the next two years.  Matt was down at BYU, and excitedly drove home that evening to open this envelope in front of his family, grandparents and friend, Josh Stratford.  Everyone wrote their names on two, small tags, and tried to guess where he'd serve; one stateside guess, and one foreign. Then placed them on a large map.

Dear Elder Matthew Bronson.
You have been called as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to serve a mission in the Spain Barcelona Mission.  You will report to the Madrid Spain MTC on July 7, 2015. It is anticipated that you will serve for two years. You will teach in the Spanish Language.

Upon opening his call, and reading it outloud, Matt got a little choked up and emotional, as he read the location of his mission. He couldn't have been more thrilled.  Everyone was surprised at him being called to Barcelona, Spain. This was the same mission his Mom had served in twenty five years ago. It was a very memorable evening.
